Waking Up App Review. I’ve read the book waking up, and i’ve listened to every episode of the waking up podcast about meditation and consciousness, so i’m coming from a position of having a lot of familiarity with sam’s work in this area. This is obviously an early review considering i’m only on day ten of waking up — but, i seem to be drawn to the simplicity and ripeness of sam’s new app.
The app doesn’t contain quite as much content as apps like calm and headspace, but this seems to be on purpose. In this version of the waking up app we made some huge improvements to app responsiveness. For me, the waking up app has been a game changer.

The real focus is on the quality of content. Yes, you heard it right. The waking up app is available for phones via the app store and google play, as well as through the dedicated website here. We also improved support for listening to content offline.
Headspace for me seemed very elementary, whereas waking. I’ve read the book waking up, and i’ve listened to every episode of the waking up podcast about meditation and consciousness, so i’m coming from a position of having a lot of familiarity with sam’s work in this area.
