Android Messages App Not Showing Contact Names. The messages are all shown correctly with contact name and phone number on my galaxy 10+. Recent problem starting to occur, everytime i recieve sms off a contact it shows their phone number and not there contact name which i have saved in my phone.
When viewing the conversation, only the phone number is listed at the top, however, the image next to their texts has their initials. Force quit the messages application. You do not have that phone number saved into your contacts list, so whatsapp will not recognize it.
I understand that since updating your iphone to ios 11 you're not seeing contact names showing in the messages app.
As the issue is with the phone app mainly, resetting app preferences could prove beneficial to you like many other users out there. Whatsapp contacts not showing names can occur because of two main things: Saved contacts with local country code won't show the name of incoming calls in note20 2 weeks ago; At least 10 i counted.
